Longhu Park Construction commenced in September 2002, the zoo occupies an area of over 40 hectares, consists of ten themed zones: Tiger Breeding Zone, Tiger Hill Viewing Zone, Crocodile Breeding Zone, Tiger Show Zone, Crocodile Show Zone, Harmonious Animal Photographing Zone, Flower Viewing Zone, Flower Plantation, Features Cuisine Zone, Shopping Zone and Executive & Dormitory Zone.
The first batch of animals from Thailand, including 100 Bengal tigers, 2000 Siam crocodiles reached the zoo on December 25, 2002. Among tigers, 46 are female, 54 are male, the oldest of which is 3 years old, the youngest is only 6 months. The tigers are offspring to the Bengal tigers boasting the finest linageof its kind, each bloodline of which has been specifically documented. Siam crocodile comprises young and middle-aged, the remaining 8000 parental crocodiles were to imported to Sanya in March, 2003. Now the park is home to 220 Bengal tigers and 12000 Siam crocodiles.
Our feeding and breeding technologies and managing personnel are supplied by Sriracha Tiger Zoo of Thailand, the technical staff and vets of which arrived at the zoo on December 24, 2002.
